A Rather Unexpected Opportunity
Data Analysis Internship
Dec. 2024 - Mar. 2025

This project marks a significant milestone in my professional development. Data analytics. With no prior experience, I dove in headfirst—teaching myself the fundamentals needed to tackle real-world business problems. It was a crash course in data-driven strategy, and I thrived on the challenge.

Over the course of three months, I explored the analytics workflow from end to end—learning to use SQL for cleaning and structuring data, Excel for preparation and organization, and Tableau for building interactive dashboards. While I’m still deepening my expertise in these tools, the hands-on experience gave me a strong foundation and clear direction for continued growth.

My work centered on three key areas: product costing, marketing performance, and reporting on a personal investment portfolio. Along the way, I gained insight into how executives think—what drives their questions, how they assess performance, and where data fits into sharper, faster decision-making.

Although the company closed before I could complete the full buildout, the experience equipped me with practical skills, executive-level perspective, and a passion for analytics. I’m proud of what I accomplished as a self-taught beginner—and even more excited about where I’m headed next.
